Who We Are

HoopFrog is built by HoopFrog Inc., a Canadian technology company founded in 2023 and headquartered in St. Albert, Alberta, with roots in Griffithstown, Pontypool, Wales. We are a small, passionate team building what we believe the dating industry has been missing: a platform that prioritizes genuine human connection over superficial engagement metrics.

The name HoopFrog is a fun wink at two old dating sayings: "jump through a lot of hoops" and "kiss a lot of frogs" on the journey to meet the right person. It captures what we believe: finding a real connection takes effort and a sense of humour. A place designed to help you find someone worth putting your phone down for.

Our Mission

We exist to help people build meaningful connections that go beyond surface-level attraction. The modern dating landscape is full of platforms that reward shallow engagement, endless swiping, disposable conversations, and algorithms optimized to keep you addicted rather than connected.

HoopFrog takes a different approach. We are building a compatibility-first platform where the goal is not more time on the app, but better time with better people. Our deep compatibility scoring goes beyond basic preferences to consider values, communication styles, lifestyle alignment, and relationship goals.

We believe that when you help people find the right connection, they do not need to keep searching. That is a business model we are proud of.
